Skotizo was an officer of Zamorak in the God Wars, but he was often overlooked by Zamorak’s more famous generals like Thammaron as well as K’ril Tsutsaroth. Zalcano’s brother is also among them.
After the cunning he and his troops demonstrated at the Battle of Carrallangar Zamorak personally handed them their next mission which he was not often able to do. The objective was to command an expedition to find an artifact found in the Karamjan Temple found within the Kharazi Jungle. Skotizo was delighted to be given the task and set off as fast as he could to be awed his god.
Reaching the Temple after a few months, Skotizo and his squad had managed to reach the Temple’s center after traversing an enormous maze. After acquiring the artefact, Skotizo betrayed his squad by taking the power of the object for himself and decimating the group of adventurers. Zamorak held Zalcano accountable for Skotizo’s actions and cursed her in stone till she brings her brother before him.
Skotizo escaped Zamorak’s wrath and travelled through Great Kourend, where he utilized the artifact to summon many monsters, creating what’s today known as The Catacombs of Kourend. Skotizo resided in the vast chamber that was beneath the catacombs. around 200 years later, after the Kourend Civil War, he met the body of an adventurer who fell into his room while looking into mysterious disappearances.
As with all demons, Skotizo is also susceptible to the powers that are Silverlight, Darklight, and Arclight. If you are currently in a black or greater demon task, Skotizo is susceptible to the Black mask/Slayer helmet advantages.
In general, the best way to defeat Skotizo is to utilize Arclight as well as wear armor that is the highest Magic Defence (e.g. black dragonhide armor) while having Protect from Melee active so the only source of damage will be by Skotizo’s magic attacks. If the player is able to afford it the Twisted bow is the most efficient weapon for Skotizo and it can be used in close proximity while praying for Protect from Magic to take the least amount of damage. A Dragon warhammer also works for the fight for its unique effects, but people who don’t own one could utilize the Arclight special attack to achieve similar results.
Any time during the battle, Skotizo will randomly activate Awakened Altars in the north east, south, and west central parts within the space. These Altars enhance the defense of the player when activated, and they have 100 Hitpoints for each. It is recommended to take them out whenever they are in the presence of two or more since they dramatically increase the defense of your unit. When travelling to disable the Awakened Altars, players should temporarily switch to Protect from Magic, since Skotizo is not able to close in to use melee attacks. The Arclight can eliminate them with one strike whatever the character’s statistics and gear. Potions for stamina are recommended because they require running through the room to disable the Altars. Toxic blowpipe is a great weapon against altars, in the event that the player doesn’t have Arclight.
When half of Skotizo’s health is depleted, it may summon three reanimated demon spawns or Dark Ankou to assist it. Should the character be using Protect from Melee and Protect from Melee, they present no threat. If the minions have been killed Skotizo could summon them once more. Therefore, fighting the minions is not beneficial, so players should instead concentrate upon Skotizo along with the Altars.
Beware: If a player is killed in the Skotizo’s region, there is absolutely no way to retrieve items which are gone when they die! If the player needs to leave, they can either escape via teleportation or any of the portals found in one of the corner areas in the boss chamber.
