Members of the full REFOOTURE project conducted an online Midterm Review over the period from 22 November to 15 December 2021. Due to COVID-19, it had to be online instead of the initially intended face-to-face meeting in Kenya. We took stock, contextualized our activities around regenerative inclusive food systems, and initiated plans for activities in 2022. We attended and facilitated plenary online meetings and break out groups. Although there were issues of connectivity and time constraints, there was ample opportunity to get to know each other better and to increase mutual understanding in our societal undertaking – among others, by drawing. This resembles to some extent the transition we imagine and want to be part of: be sensitive to what exists, looking for the best ecological design, doing it together in a fair, just and inclusive way – a living process!
